(NewsRadio 570 WKBN) - Youngstown State University may be cutting the air conditioning and dimming the light during daytime hours this week. As a large electricity user, the university has an agreement with its electrical suppliers through the regional electricity grid management group to cut power use in half when asked to so; they can also voluntarily do so. At YSU, facilities director John Hyden says they would shut down the chillers which cool most of the campus buildings. The university participates in the program along with several local large manufacturers; they save on its electric bill as we'll.
