McDonald's Adding “Clean” Chicken Tenders To Menu

McDonald's is bringing buttermilk fried chicken tenders to its menu. The fast-food chain decided to add the tenders and a new sauce to go with them after the success of its chicken sandwich.

According to the company, the all-white meat chicken is "clean" or “free of artificial flavors and preservatives.” The same can’t be said for the new “slightly tangy and sweet” sauce that will bow with the tenders – the company hasn’t said if the sauce is also free of additives. The new item is still in the testing phase and is currently only available at about 140 restaurants in the Charlotte, North Carolina area

Turns out, chicken is a big deal in the market. While some 481 new chicken items were added to the menus of the top 250 restaurant chains last year, just 269 new beef items were added during that same period.
